Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

The annual festive central London fair is back, and this year they have a new Five Peaks pass, which gives you access to five iconic Winter Wonderland rides with fast-track updates, and the much-loved (and terrifying) Wilde Maushas XXL has returned. They will have all the usual fun, food and drink options including Le Chalet Fondue and Voodoo Ray’s Pizza Party, as well as the largest open-air ice skating rink in London, an ice slide with innertubes, rides for small ones, and more – this park just keeps getting bigger, and better.

Festive Music

Royal Albert Hall

Various Dates

There’s something extremely festive about the Royal Albert Hall; maybe it’s the red hue – but a show here at any time near the holidays is always a great way to spend the evening. They always have a great selection of diverse concerts to choose from, and this year highlights include Jules Buckley’s Christmas: A Celebration of Aretha Franklin (10 December); Carols (14 December); Trevor Nelson’s Soul Christmas (16 December); and the London Choir at Christmas (20 December).

The World of Tim Burton

Design Museum

Until 21 April

‘Master of the comically grotesque and the endearingly misfit’, you likely know Tim Burton for his movies like Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice (1 and 2), but this exhibition also looks at a range of his work including illustrations, paintings, photographs, moving image works, costume design, sketches, sculptural installations and writing, from his childhood to present day. The final stop on its decade-long world tour and the only showing in the UK, this special exhibition from a Hollywood maverick, is not to be missed! Booking tickets in advance, essential.
