Maria G’s, W14
Seasonal Italian by Robin Gill and Aaron Potter

Inspired by their time spent in southern Italy – and in particular the fishing village Marina Del Cantone – Maria G’s is a new, relaxed Italian neighbourhood restaurant in W14. Dishes will use local ingredients from some of Robin’s favourite suppliers and will include things like red mullet with Amalfi lemon and wild fennel; pappardelle with pink fir potatoes, pancetta, egg yolk and sage; borlotti bean stew with summer vegetables; Maria’s tiramisu; and tonka bean panna cotta. Joining Robin in the kitchen is long-time friend and colleague, executive chef Aaron Potter.

Pascor, W8
Fire-focused Levantine cooking

From the co-founder of The Palomar, Timer Amedi, comes Pascor, serving Levantine small plates and interesting wines. There will be things like challah with whipped za’atar butter and smoked tahini; duck breast salad with cucumber, pickled carrot, coriander and dukkah; and flavourful cocktails.

Zaika, W8
New menu, same great location

With a new menu by the Tamarind Collection’s executive chef Karunesh Khanna (who was head chef for 13 years at Michelin-starred Amaya), dishes here are robust and hearty, with heat. The regal dining room (we love the coral leather chairs), which overlooks Kensington Park, was formerly The London County Bank, London’s first high street bank. They have a 30-cover private dining room and a great bar.

Flesh & Buns, W8
Modern Japanese and Nikkei- inspired dishes

Just off High Street Kensington comes the third Flesh & Buns site. A relaxed atmosphere of booths and cosy tables, tiles and neon lighting sets the tone for the izakaya menu. There are interesting starters, sushi and sashimi, large plates of steak, lamb shank, fried chicken and piglet belly, plus pokes and hot stone rice dishes.

Como Garden
Take a trip to Lake Como

An Italian tapas-style restaurant, here they combine the most popular dishes from all regions of Italy and serve them in an elegant dining room (we love a table lamp), with outdoor seating, and glass windows that open – transporting you instantly to Lake Como, or your favourite Italian location.
