Ideal Home Show

With over 600 brands across interiors, home renovation, gardens, and home accessories, whether you’re building your dream home or just making some tweaks and upgrades, this show is a great place for inspiration. There are well-known architects, stylists, property experts and interior designers on hand for advice, and key topics like sustainable living will be covered, too. There will also be the most innovative Dream Home there, where you can step inside to see the tech, layout, and design of this home of the future, created by renowned designers and innovative brands and suppliers. An adult dollhouse if you will – sounds fun and useful.

Design Museum Easter Kids Camps

In April, the Design Museum are running a few excellent design-focused camps for kids, including code your own adventure; coding for 8- to 11-year-olds; Enzo Mari Lino Printing for 11- to 14-year-olds; ‘zine making for 11- to 14-year-olds (which we’d like to do ourselves…); and skateboard deck making for 8- to 11-year-olds. Their skateboard exhibition, which explores the design evolution of the skateboard from the 1950s to today, is still on, too, so you can make a day of it.

Laithwaites Wine Festival

Wine lovers, take note. The Laithwaites Wine Festival, by Tony Laithwaite and his family, will bring 350 wines from 100 winemakers across 17 countries to Olympia London, for two days only. Friday is an evening session (5-9PM), and Saturday has two sessions (11AM-3PM and 5-9PM). There will be tastings, educational sessions, artisanal cuisine offerings, spirits, and author/TV personality Oz Clarke will be there too.

Julie’s

Legendary West London restaurant, Julie’s, will be re-opening this spring after an extensive renovation and under new management. Tara MacBain, a Cordon Bleu trained chef, local resident, previous Julie’s regular, is now at the helm, and the relaunched space will be an elegant French brasserie with classics and fun things like a martini trolley and seafood towers. There will be terrace dining, and a great wine collection, too. Follow them on social for more information about the launch date.
